Antimony is a metalloid used in industrial products like flame retardants, alloys, and glass. Some traditional remedies once included it, but it has no role as a dietary supplement.
Ingesting antimony causes severe poisoning. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, and damage to the liver and kidneys. In serious cases, heart problems or death can occur. There is no evidence-based benefit from taking it, and no safe level of intake.
If you suspect exposure to antimony, seek immediate medical help.
