Cobalt is a trace mineral. It sits at the center of vitamin B12, also called cobalamin.
You get cobalt naturally from foods that supply vitamin B12, such as meat, fish, and dairy products. Isolated cobalt supplements are not a typical or useful way to obtain the mineral.
No established health use exists for standalone cobalt. These supplements can be toxic and are not recommended.
