Saturated fatty acids are dietary fats you get mainly from meat, dairy, and tropical oils like coconut and palm oil. Your body uses them for energy and to build cell membranes.
People don’t take these as a standalone supplement the way they do with unsaturated fats such as fish oil. The body can make its own saturated fat, and you also get plenty from food.
Most dietary guidelines push for moderation here. High intake can bump up LDL cholesterol and raise cardiovascular risk. There is no established use for saturated fatty acids in a supplement bottle. You get them from your meals, not from a pill.
